Louise Ivers, MB, BCh, MD, MPH, DTM&H
PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR
Dr. Louise Ivers is director of the Harvard Global Health Institute, director of the Massachusetts General Hospital Center for Global Health, and the David Bangsberg MD, MPH Endowed Chair in Global Health Equity at Mass General Hospital. She is a professor of global health and social medicine, and professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Ivers works on the implementation of health programs with the goal of advancing health equity and access to care and social services for impoverished communities, supported by research and advocacy. She is a practicing infectious diseases physician in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Mass General Hospital.
Dr. Ivers completed medical school at University College Dublin, Ireland, residency in internal medicine at Mass General Hospital, and a fellowship in infectious diseases at Mass General/Brigham. Dr. Ivers holds a diploma in tropical medicine and hygiene from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, a master of public health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and a research doctorate in medicine from the National University of Ireland. She is a fellow of both the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene and the Infectious Diseases Society of America, and an elected member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation. Dr. Ivers is the recipient of numerous honors including the Bailey K Ashford Medal for distinguished work in tropical medicine, Leadership in the Practice of Public Health Award from the Harvard T Chan School, and Distinguished Graduate of the UCD School of Medicine. She has published over a hundred articles, chapters, and perspectives on wide-ranging topics related to global health equity, is editor of a text book on food insecurity and public health, and has contributed to WBUR, NPR, and the New York Times.

Yodeline Guillaume, MA
SENIOR PROGRAM MANAGER
Yodeline provides research and technical assistance for the implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive cholera control intervention in Haiti. She holds an M.A. in Sociology from Northeastern University with a concentration on the social structures that create and reproduce inequalities, including health disparities. In her current role, she is particularly interested in the social dimensions and dynamics of cholera in Haiti. Prior to joining MGH Global Health, she worked and volunteered with various academic, medical, and non-profit institutions aiming to improve health and education outcomes for marginalized groups in both the U.S. and Haiti.

Wilfredo Matias, MD, MPH
GLOBAL HEALTH FELLOW
Dr. Wilfredo Matias is an Infectious Diseases Fellow at Mass General Brigham, a Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School, and a Global Health Fellow at the MGH Center for Global Health.
His research applies implementation science, epidemiologic and translational approaches to the delivery and evaluation of epidemic infectious disease response programs in underserved settings, all with the aim of advancing global health equity.
He has worked extensively in rural Haiti under the mentorship of Dr. Louise Ivers, focusing on cholera vaccination and the epidemiology of diarrheal diseases. Ongoing work includes the evaluation of SARS-CoV-2 seroprevalence and disparities domestically in Holyoke, MA, and studying barriers and facilitators of HIV care among migrants on the island of Hispaniola.
Wilfredo was born in the Dominican Republic and grew up in New York where he received his BA in Biology and Romance Languages from New York University. He studied medicine at Harvard Medical School and completed clinical training in the Global Health Equity Residency at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident. Most recently, he received a Master of Public Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Stanley Juin MD, MPH
RESEARCH CONSULTANT
With over 12 years of experience, Dr. Stanley Juin, MD, MPH is a research consultant at the MGH Center for Global Health, specializing in health system strengthening, epidemic preparedness and response, and infectious diseases prevention and control. A surgeon by training, Dr. Juin earned his medical degree and a diploma in general surgery from the State University of Haiti. He received a master’s degree in public health from Université de Montréal in 2010.
Prior to his work with MGH, Dr. Juin served as the head of the division of global health protection for CDC-Haiti, where he supported the development of the Haitian ministry of health’s epidemiology department and the national public health laboratory between 2012-2022. His professional interests are in the areas of global health security, health system strengthening, and health emergency preparedness. Dr. Juin continues to work closely with the Directorate of Epidemiology and Research and the National Laboratory of Public Health in Haiti to enhance epidemiologic surveillance, epidemiology, and laboratory capacity.
